How to control Diabetes Diet

It can seem overwhelming when you or someone whom you love have Diabetes. It can be the biggest concern about What to Eat and What not to eat and How to Eat! So here with us, learn few ways on how to control diabetes diet.

Dine on Time

People having Diabetes would know that they have to take certain pills before having food. So if you take diabetes pills, it pays to think about when you’ll eat as well as what you’ll eat. You can avoid problems with hypoglycemia by planning ahead. So make sure you follow a specific dining time daily. If your lunch or dinner is going to be later than usual, eat a fruit or starch serving from that meal at your usual mealtime. Then, eat your full meal at the later hour.

Now, as you have Diabetes you must follow and maintain a proper meal plan. Not everyone with diabetes has the same meal plan or the same nutrition goals. For some, cutting calories is most important. Others may need to limit saturated and trans fat and salt, and eat more foods high in fiber. Work with your nutritionist to identify your own goals. If you eat out a lot, go to restaurants that make it easier for you to follow your meal plan.

Fast Food Challenge

I know that Fast Food is a need nowadays but it comes with many problems also. And for a person suffering Diabetes fast food is a dream but “Believe it or not, you can make healthy fast-food choices. Keep the following ground rules in mind while having FAST FOOD:

  • Eat a variety of foods in moderate amounts.
  • Include non-starchy vegetables.
  • Choose whole grains.
  • Limit the “the bad fats”: saturated fat and trans fat.
  • Keep salt to a minimum.
  • Stick to moderate portion sizes.
